Why is breakfast so important?
Including protein and fat in your breakfast is very important. Your mental focus and clarity are instantly boosted which is the biggest benefit. Looking at the science – the neurotransmitters, dopamine and acetylcholine, are positively effected increasing mental drive and focus and a feel good euphoria. This in turn has a massive positive effect on mental clarity, energy, appetite control and cravings throughout the day.
Ben says: “The protein allows blood sugar to rise slowly and steadily, as opposed to sugar (cereals, processed breads and grains) which would instantly spike blood sugar having disastrous effects on the brain and body. The smart fats stabilise the blood sugar for a prolonged period of time. As a personal trainer this is the first port of call when starting the journey to improved wellbeing and health.”
